Stoke City manager Tony Pulis criticises fourth official Lee Probert for his role in the sending off of Rory Delap.

Tony Pulis has criticised the inconsistent performances of referees following Stoke City's 2-0 win over Crawley Town at the Broadfield Stadium this afternoon.

Goals from Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters saw the Potters progress into the FA Cup last-eight but Pulis was left angered by the decision to send off Rory Delap.

He pointed in particular to fourth official Lee Probert's impact on the decision as a frustrating factor.

"There is a big problem within the game in that I think professional people and referees are so far apart in what they see in terms of what are fair challenges or competitive challenges and the bad, reckless challenges," said Pulis.

"We had a fourth official [Lee Probert] today who I think has got Rory sent off.

"The referee, I think, gave a throw-in so Lee Probert is the one [that got Delap sent off]," he said.

Stoke will face either Liverpool or Brighton & Hove Albion in the quarter finals.
