Tottenham Hotspur target Simone Zaza's proposed move to the Premier League club has been dealt a blow after the player's agent seemingly ruled out a deal.
Zaza, 23, has scored nine goals in 26 games for Sassuolo this season, and had been linked with a move to White Hart Lane as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his forward line.
However, Zaza's agent Christian Maifredi has distanced his client from any potential transfer.
"Tottenham? No-one called me, I don't know if Sassuolo had contacts. Being a striker for the national team was good for him, no doubt, but he's only thinking about Sassuolo," Maifredi is quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.
Zaza, who has scored one goal in four appearances for Italy, could rejoin Juventus this summer as the reigning Serie A champions retain an option to re-sign the striker.
