Tottenham Hotspur 'reluctant to chase Saido Berahino'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly unwilling to renew their interest in West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino in the upcoming transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur are reluctant to enter another transfer saga in an attempt to land the signature of West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, according to reports.

The North London outfit submitted a number of deadline-day bids for the Baggies striker during the summer transfer window, only to be repeatedly knocked back by West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace.

Berahino subsequently vowed that he would never play for Peace again before patching things up with the chairman, although he has since made only six Premier League starts for Tony Pulis's side.

Spurs are still understood to be keen on an attacking player, but having had a £23m bid for Berahino already turned down, in addition to the 22-year-old's struggles this season, chairman Daniel Levy is keen to pursue other options, according to Sky Sports News.

The likes of Sandro Ramirez, Michy Batshuayi and Breel Embolo have all been linked with a switch to White Hart Lane, while Alvaro Negredo and Daniel Didavi have also reportedly been added to Levy's wishlist.

Spurs currently have Harry Kane as the only senior out-and-out striker on their books, although the England international has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season.
