Tottenham Hotspur allegedly attempted to sell Victor Wanyama to Marseille during the summer transfer window.
Having struggled for form and with injuries over the past 12 months, the midfielder has been free to leave North London, but interested clubs failed to reach a deal.
Club Brugge missed out on concluding negotiations with Spurs close to the deadline, and France Football claims that the Belgian outfit were not the only team who were offered the Kenya international.
The report says that Marseille were given the opportunity to sign the 28-year-old, only for former Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas to opt against adding him to his group of players.
Wanyama will now attempt to regain a place in the Spurs squad, although he now finds himself well down the pecking order after the arrivals of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.
