Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has insisted that the club is "in no hurry" to sell striker Alvaro Negredo.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are both reported to be interested in signing the 27-year-old Spaniard this summer.
"The ideal thing would be that he remains in Sevilla and renews [his contract] for another two years," Sky Sports News quotes Del Nido as saying.
"We are in no hurry. We are in a better situation than a month ago and we've shown that with the signings that we've made."
Negredo scored 25 goals for Sevilla in La Liga last season.
