Report: Jay Rodriguez signs new Southampton deal

Supposed Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Jay Rodriguez reportedly signs a new four-year contract at Southampton.

Jay Rodriguez has reportedly signed a new contract with Southampton.

The striker, who has missed the entire season with a knee injury, had been strongly linked with a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the 25-year-old has committed himself to the St Mary's Stadium by agreeing to terms on a fresh four-year deal, according to Sky Sports News.

Rodriguez's previous deal on the South Coast had been due to expire at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

He arrived at Southampton from Burnley in 2012 and has gone on to score 26 goals in 76 appearances.
