Fenerbahce are reportedly prepared to pay £10m in order to sign Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor, who is understood to be surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur want to offload high-earning striker Emmanuel Adebayor and may find a suitor in Turkish club Fenerbahce, according to reports.

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas hopes to recruit a new forward line this summer and Adebayor does not feature in his plans for next season.

The 29-year-old signed on permanently at White Hart Lane last season but did not match the form that he displayed during a year-long loan spell with the Lillywhites the previous campaign, scoring just five Premier League goals.

It had been thought that Spurs would struggle to find a club willing to meet the Togolese international's wage demands, but the Daily Mail understands that Fenerbahce are ready to make a £10m bid after missing out on Benfica's Oscar Cardozo.

Former Arsenal striker Adebayor cost Spurs £5m when he arrived from Manchester City.
