The agent of Philippe Coutinho rubbishes reports that his client holds a grudge against Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy following a failed move last summer.

The agent of Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has denied reports that his client holds a grudge against Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy after seeing a move to North London break down last summer.

Coutinho has been linked with a move back to the Premier League when the transfer window reopens, with Spurs thought to be one of four English clubs interested in the Brazilian playmaker's signature.

Reports in Spain suggested that the former Liverpool man would not be interested in joining the 2019 Champions League runners-up, though, having been angered by the collapse of a move last summer despite already agreeing terms.

The reports suggested that chairman Daniel Levy pulled the plug on the deal due to financial issues, but agent Kia Joorabchian has dismissed the claims as "totally false".

"Philippe Coutinho has no personal issue with Daniel Levy and claims otherwise are totally false. The deal did not collapse due to financial reasons," he told The Mirror.

The report goes on to say that then-manager Mauricio Pochettino was the one to veto the move as he wanted to stick with the club's philosophy of developing younger players.
