Michael Dawson has reportedly snubbed Queens Park Rangers in a bid to extend his career at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 28-year-old held discussions with the Hoops over a £9m move after Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas surprisingly decided that Dawson was free to leave White Hart Lane.
However, the transfer does not look likely to go through after QPR boss Mark Hughes revealed that Dawson has stalled on personal terms at Loftus Road.
According to The Mirror, the former Nottingham Forest defender is keen to stay and fight for his place at Spurs, where he faces competition from Younes Kaboul, Jan Vertonghen, William Gallas and Steven Caulker.
While Villas-Boas admitted that he would prefer just four centre-backs in his squad, he would also be happy to keep Dawson beyond this transfer window.
Sunderland are also rumoured to be interested in the England international and Dawson is believed to be more willing to move to the Black Cats should he be forced out.
