Leandro Damiao says that he wants to stay in Brazil until at least the 2014 World Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur have been frustrated in their efforts to sign Internacional striker Leandro Damiao.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of interest from White Hart Lane, with reports of a £14m bid being rejected.

Damiao, who made his debut for Brazil in the friendly win over Scotland at the Emirates Stadium, has now moved to clarify his future.

"I've got Tottenham's proposal, but Internacional thought I'd better stay," the striker told UOL. "I will try to reach the World Cup playing for Internacional. But have to wait for the window to pass and close."

Damiao has scored 11 goals in 15 appearances so far this season.
