Harry Kane double helps Tottenham Hotspur to victory

Tottenham Hotspur brush aside West Bromwich Albion with a 3-0 victory at The Hawthorns.

Harry Kane's impressive season continued as the youngster netted twice in Tottenham Hotspur's 3-0 victory away at West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

Christian Eriksen put Spurs ahead after just seven minutes as he netted his third goal in the space of four days with a free kick into the top corner.

The visitors found themselves two goals up in the 13th minute when Kane finished clinically into the bottom corner following an incisive breakaway.

West Brom took a few minutes to compose themselves after going two goals down, but James Morrison brought a fine save from Hugo Lloris before Claudio Yacob tested the French stopper with a low volley.

Craig Dawson then rattled the woodwork with a thumping header as Spurs found themselves on the ropes as the half-time whistle blew.

Eriksen sent a low left-footed strike inches wide just seconds after the whistle as Spurs began the second half as brightly they did the first.

In the 65th minute, Kane put the game beyond any doubt when he slotted home a penalty after Joleon Lescott had handled Kyle Walker's right-wing cross.

Saido Berahino had a quiet afternoon, but almost pulled a goal back for the Baggies with 25 minutes remaining with a shot which went just wide.

Kane came close to netting his hat-trick as Ben Foster made a good save from his free kick, before Craig Gardner hit the post late on to cap off a frustrating afternoon for the hosts.
