Mauricio Pochettino: "We need to improve"

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is adamant that his team has to improve amid their recent inconsistent displays in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has urged his side to improve their performances on the pitch before the end of the season.

Spurs have been inconsistent of late in the Premier League as they have recorded three victories, two draws and three losses since their win in the North London derby back in February, which included their surprising defeat at White Hart Lane to Aston Villa last week.

The Argentine has insisted that his players need to find their form before the end of the campaign to ensure they secure a place in Europe next season.

Pochettino told reporters: "When you lose it is an easy explanation. In football we use a lot of those but it's not true.

"When you lose we need to be serious and analyse why. But it is difficult to explain sometimes why.

"It is true that different things happen during the season, we are up or down. But it is true that the last two games were not good. We need to improve."

Spurs face Newcastle United in their Premier League clash at St James' Park on Sunday.
