Julian Nagelsmann allegedly requests that he has the final say over transfers if he is to become the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.

Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly laid out his demands regarding a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Ever since Antonio Conte was removed from his position in the dugout at the end of March, Spurs have been frequently linked with a wide array of potential replacements.

Feyenoord's Arne Slot, Burnley's Vincent Kompany and former Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers are among the names to be associated with a switch to North London.

However, on the back of losing his job at Bayern Munich, it has been widely suggested that Nagelsmann's next step could be the Premier League, that initially seeming more likely with Chelsea.

Such a perception changed on Friday when Nagelsmann was ruled out of the running for the job at Stamford Bridge, leaving Spurs with a free run to try to tempt the German to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

That was before the events of Sunday afternoon as Spurs conceded five times in the first 21 minutes of their Premier League fixture at Newcastle United before losing by a 6-1 scoreline.

As a result of dropping six points off the pace in the race for Champions League qualification, Spurs sacked Cristian Stellini on Monday, reinstalling previous caretaker incumbent Ryan Mason.

Off the pitch, though, focus remains on trying to find a permanent alternative for Conte, and it appears that Nagelsmann has stated his preferences if he is to replace the Italian.

According to The Independent, Nagelsmann wants the final say in any transfer dealings at the club.

The general consensus is that Spurs could go through another rebuilding phase in the summer, particularly if Harry Kane's long-term association with the club comes to an end.

Kane has just over 14 months remaining on his contract and failure to sign fresh terms may lead to Levy feeling the need to take his last chance to generate a big sum for the club's record goalscorer.

In the previous regime, Conte was tasked with working with some of the club's own signings, rather than his own, with the acquisition of Djed Spence a notable example.

Much may also depend on how Spurs fare during the remainder of the season, it no longer a foregone conclusion that the club will be participating in Europe with eighth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion just four points adrift in the Premier League table with three matches in hand.
