Hugo Lloris has chosen not to respond to comments made by manager Andre Villas-Boas regarding the goalkeeper's place in the Tottenham Hotspur side.
The France international moved to White Hart Lane from Lyon last week but Villas-Boas suggested that the 25-year-old may be behind Brad Friedel in the competition for places.
However, Lloris has claimed that his professional personality means prevents him from responding to the remarks.
The £8m signing said: "Regarding my personal situation, it is neither the time nor the place to discuss this.
"I think I'm professional enough to make sense of things."
France manager Didier Deschamps has insisted that Lloris was upset by the comments made by Villas-Boas.
