Erik Lamela looking ahead to new season with Tottenham Hotspur

Erik Lamela insists that he is "looking forward" to the new season with Tottenham Hotspur following rumours about his future.

Erik Lamela has calmed transfer rumours by insisting that he is gearing himself up for the new season with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old failed to make an impact at White Hart Lane last season after his record move from Roma for a reported £30m last summer.

Despite reports linking him with a return to Italy, Lamela has insisted that he is "looking forward" to the upcoming campaign with Spurs, who will be led by new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentina international posted an image of himself in the gym on Twitter, with the message: "I'm really looking forward to this season, come on you spurs!!"
