Steve Cook: 'Tottenham Hotspur were unplayable'

Bournemouth defender Steve Cook is gushing in his praise of Tottenham Hotspur after seeing his side fall to a 3-0 defeat at White Hart Lane.

Bournemouth defender Steve Cook has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur after his side were beaten 3-0 at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

The Cherries fell behind to a Harry Kane strike after less than a minute, and further goals from Kane and Christian Eriksen wrapped up a comfortable win for the title-chasing hosts.

Cook admitted that the early goal made things extra difficult for his side, but believes that Spurs were "unplayable" on the day.

"Conceding a goal after 44 seconds against a top-class team meant our gameplan went out the window. It set the tone for the whole game. It was a massive kick in the teeth. In the second half we got a bit of respect back but they were excellent," Cook told reporters.

"That's where we want to be, what we want to be like. It shows the gap. We're up for the challenge. Tottenham I thought were unplayable today.

"Everyone is very disappointed, there were some very strong words. We won't be taking our foot off the gas. No-one is happy. We still have a points mark to get to, the magic 40, and we're still not there. There is work to do."

Despite the defeat, Bournemouth remain 12 points clear of the relegation zone with just seven games of the season remaining.
