Tottenham Hotspur's Etienne Capoue could feature against Aston Villa

French midfielder Etienne Capoue could make his return from 10 weeks out with an ankle injury in Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League finale with Aston Villa.

Etienne Capoue is in contention to make his return for Tottenham Hotspur when they host Aston Villa in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday.

The French international has not played since damaging his ankle against Norwich City on February 23.

In total, the £8.6m signing from Toulouse has spent five months on the sidelines during his debut campaign in England and has made only eight starts in the top flight.

However, Tim Sherwood confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the 25-year-old, who nearly left White Hart Lane to join Napoli in January, will be part of his squad for Villa's visit to London.

Nacer Chadli, Jan Vertonghen, Andros Townsend, Kyle Walker and Erik Lamela have all been ruled out, while Younes Kaboul is unavailable for the match at White Hart Lane due to suspension.
