Gareth Bale has struggled to hold down a place in the Tottenham side since returning to the club on loan in the summer, not helped by another niggling injury issue. The Welshman limped off against Stoke City in the EFL Cup last week and subsequently missed the 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Giovani Lo Celso sustained a hamstring injury against Leicester City on December 20 and has been ruled out of the festive period by Mourinho. A return in the first couple of weeks of January seems most likely for the Argentina international.
