Two goals from Jermain Defoe help Spurs to a 3-1 win over Stevenage in their FA Cup fifth-round replay at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur have reached the sixth round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Stevenage in their fifth-round replay at White Hart Lane.

The visitors stunned the home side after only two minutes when Joel Byrom fired in from the penalty spot following Ryan Nelsen's foul.

However, it was level at the break when Jermain Defoe rifled home a left-footed drive into the bottom corner.

Spurs edged ahead early in the second half when Emmanuel Adebayor converted a penalty after Gareth Bale was felled in the area by Mark Roberts.

It was 3-1 in the 75th minute as Defoe cut inside the Stevenage defence before he fired into the far corner.
