Mauricio Pochettino admits that he had an 'animated discussion' with Danny Rose in training on Tuesday afternoon, but plays down talk of a falling out between the pair.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he did not have a falling out with full-back Danny Rose during a training session.

Pochettino was seen calling the England international away from the rest of his teammates to have an animated one-to-one conversation in front of journalists.

Asked about the supposed 'argument' at his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League tie with Juventus, however, the 46-year-old claimed that it was a "coincidence" the discussions took place at an open training session on the eve of the big match.

"That was a private conversation. It was just a coincidence that you saw me, but that is the normal way I approach my players," he told reporters. "Just today, you picked me out talking to him.

"Yes [it was animated]. It is because we have passion. We might not show it too much on the touchline, but we are people who feel passion."

Rose is a part of Tottenham's squad for the visit of Juventus, with the sides locked at 2-2 heading into the second leg at Wembley.
