Diego Costa has said that he does not agree with Xabi Alonso's remarks after he questioned whether Spain were prepared for the tournament.
The defending champions, who have also won the last two European Championships, have already been eliminated at the World Cup after losing their first two games of the tournament.
The striker told Marca.com: "I don't agree with his comments. Everybody here was focused on winning.
"I'm here because I wanted to win, I wanted to reach the final and do a good job, but it wasn't to be.
"We obviously lacked something, but in terms of quality, we're superior to many other teams."
Spain will look to avoid finishing bottom in Group B when they face Australia on Monday.
