Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn is reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Norwich City, where he was initially recruited as a nine-year-old.

Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to recently-promoted Norwich City.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke City where he only managed 15 appearances, keeping six clean sheets for the Championship side.

Gunn has fallen behind Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster in the pecking order at St Mary's, and it is believed that recent discussions with Ralph Hasenhuttl have resulted in Gunn deciding that he does not have a future on the South Coast.

The Athletic reports that Norwich have agreed a deal with Southampton and the Canaries will pay an initial £5m fee, with the Saints hoping to earn around £7m in total depending on certain clauses being met.

Gunn was recruited as an Under-nine goalkeeper by Norwich and developed in their academy until Manchester City purchased him for a tribunal-set £250,000 in 2011.

Since arriving at Southampton in 2018, Gunn has gone on to make 30 appearances in all competitions for the club.
