Southampton manager Nigel Adkins reveals that he will be using Norwich City and Swansea City for inspiration in the Premier League next season.

Nigel Adkins has admitted that he will look to Norwich City and Swansea City for inspiration as he begins making plans for Southampton's campaign in the Premier League.

The Saints secured their promotion back to the top flight with a 4-0 win over Coventry City on Saturday afternoon.

Having seen Norwich and Swansea produce a competitive showing in the Premier League this season, Adkins believes that the promoted duo are the model that his side should follow.

"In any walk of life you're looking for people who can inspire you," Adkins told BBC Radio Solent. "Norwich and Swansea have done it very very well and even QPR have the opportunity to go up and stay up. It's proved it is possible."

"If you believe it's possible then it can be done."

Adkins left Scunthorpe United to take charge of Southampton in 2010.
