Stevie May: 'Sheffield Wednesday can upset Manchester City'

Sheffield Wednesday striker looks ahead to his side's League Cup tie against Manchester City, believing that the Owls will "work hard" to secure an upset.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Stevie May has expressed his eagerness to line up against Manchester City when the two sides clash in the League Cup on Wednesday, claiming that the Owls can cause an upset against the Premier League giants.

The Championship side saw off Notts County and Burnley in the competition to set up a glamour tie against last season's winners at the Etihad.

May told the official Owls website: "This game has been there for some time but now we can finally really look at it.

"It's a big game for us and we're not going into it thinking we are beaten already. Everyone will be desperate to play, we'll work hard, stick to our jobs and yes, it's one to look forward to.

"We know it's going to be a tough, tough game but cup upsets do happen, we've seen it many times before."

May opened his account at Hillsborough in the Owls' 1-0 defeat of Reading on Saturday.
