Roma have reportedly claimed top spot in the race to sign Torino forward Andrea Belotti, who is believed to want a move away from Turin.
The 27-year-old has been a key figure in Davide Nicola's side this season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in 34 Serie A appearances for the club, whose survival in the Italian top division has now been confirmed as they currently sit four points above the drop zone with one game to play.
Torino president Urbano Cairo is awaiting a meeting with Belotti but Cairo is believed to be expecting the forward to reject a new contract offer as he seeks a move away from the club after the European Championships this summer.
Calciomercato reports that the arrival of Jose Mourinho to Roma in readiness for next season has put the Italian giants as the favourites to gain Belotti's signature.
Mourinho is believed to have wanted to sign Belotti during his time at Tottenham Hotspur and his new club Roma are expected to offer £30m plus some youngsters in part exchange to bring Belotti to the Stadio Olimpico.
The Italian striker has scored 105 goals in 227 appearances for the club since arriving in 2015.
