Roma ease past Chievo in Serie A

Roma return to winning ways in Serie A thanks to a convincing 3-0 victory at home to Chievo.

Roma have made a return to winning ways in Serie A with a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to Chievo.

The hosts took the lead with just five minutes on the clock when Mattia Destro got in front of his marker to head home from a corner.

Their advantage was doubled on 25 minutes as Adem Ljajic collected a long ball over the top before firing a powerful shot past the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

A dominant opening half for Roma was completed eight minutes later when Francesco Totti smashed the ball in from the penalty spot, after Daniele De Rossi had been brought down in the box following a corner.

The home side created further chances after the break as Totti and Radja Nainggolan both forced saves from Francesco Bardi, but they were unable to add to their tally.
