Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman has said that he is confident the club can win the title next season.

The Giallorossi are set to finish second in the Serie A table, but they have already secured their place in the Champions League group stages for next season.

Strootman admits that he is looking forward to playing in Europe and believes that the Rome outfit have what it takes to win their first league title since 2001.

"Finally I'll get to play in this competition. I am happy for the club and for our fans. Will we be ready for the Scudetto next year? I think so, yes," he told Roma Channel.

"The best moments of the season for me were the 10 consecutive victories and the goal against Napoli, plus I won my derby against Lazio."

Strootman is in his first season at Roma, having joined from PSV Eindhoven last summer.
