Cristiano Ronaldo's agent has claimed that he was not surprised at the Portuguese forward's revelation that he is not happy with life at Real Madrid.
Following Madrid's 3-0 defeat of Granada in La Liga on Sunday, the 27-year-old admitted that he is "unhappy with some people" at the club.
"Following [Monday's] reports published by some media outlets, which claim that I have been surprised and bothered by the statements made by Cristiano Ronaldo, I clarify the following," said Jorge Mendes.
"Firstly, Ronaldo's declarations are based on reasons that are the best of my knowledge. It is at the discretion of Cristiano whether he discloses them or not.
"Secondly, these statements have not surprised me and, much less, caused me any discomfort. The relationship that binds me to Cristiano Ronaldo means he will always count on me with total solidarity."
Some reports in Spain suggest that Ronaldo is not pleased with his teammates backing Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, and not him, for the 2012 Fifa Ballon d'Or.
