Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly preparing to hijack Barcelona's move for Antoine Griezmann.
Griezmann has been strongly linked with a move to Barca since announcing that he would be leaving Atletico Madrid this summer in search of pastures new.
The Spanish champions are believed to have all but agreed a deal for the France international, who could be unveiled as a new signing next week.
However, according to reports in Spain, Madrid president Perez wants to make a late attempt to land the France international providing that Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane is in favour of the move.
Griezmann, who has scored 133 times for Atletico in all competitions, has seen the release clause in his contract drop to £107m over the last few days.
A busy summer window for Madrid has already seen Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo Goes arrive ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
However, more new faces are expected to make the switch to the Bernabeu following a disappointing 2018-19 season for the 33-time La Liga champions.
