Real Madrid 'line up £269m Neymar bid'

Real Madrid reportedly revive their interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar and are lining up a world-record £269m bid for the Brazil international.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a world-record £269m move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Neymar before the end of the European transfer window on August 31.

Madrid saw club-record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo join Juventus earlier this summer, and they have so far been unable to bring in a replacement despite links with the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard.

PSG, Real Madrid and Neymar himself have all ruled out a move this summer amid fierce speculation that the Brazilian could return to Spain, but Sport reports that Madrid president Florentino Perez is now considering an approach once again.

Real's 4-2 UEFA Super Cup defeat to city rivals Atletico Madrid is thought to have convinced Perez that reinforcements are needed ahead of the new season.

PSG are unwilling to entertain any offers for Neymar - even above the world-record £200m sum they paid to sign him from Barcelona last summer - but could be in line for a significant punishment due to Financial Fair Play rules.

Should that occur then the report claims Perez will be waiting with a €300m (£269m) move for the 26-year-old.
