Everton to rival Wolverhampton Wanderers for £70m James Rodriguez?

Everton want to sign Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez during this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez this summer.

The 28-year-old has been restricted to just 13 appearances for Madrid during the 2019-20 campaign and could allegedly leave the Bernabeu on a permanent deal during this summer's transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have recently been credited with an interest in the Colombia international, who has managed just one goal and two assists at club level this term.

However, according to El Desmarque, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is also exploring the possibility of bringing the South American to Goodison Park ahead of next season.

The report claims that Madrid are currently looking for €80m (£70m) for the former Monaco attacker but both Wolves and Everton are hopeful of reducing that figure.

Atletico Madrid and Valencia are also allegedly keeping a close eye on developments with Rodriguez's contract at the Bernabeu due to expire in June 2021.
