Villarreal have agreed a deal to sign Russia forward Denis Cheryshev on a one-year loan from Real Madrid, pending a medical.
The 23-year-old, who missed out on a spot in Fabio Capello's Russian World Cup squad, will hope to have more success with the Yellow Submarine than he did while on loan at Sevilla, where he made just one league start last season.
Villarreal said in a statement that a date to present Cheryshev would be set "in the coming days".
The attacker has been with Real for over a decade but has only played for their B team.
