Cadiz manager Alvaro Cervera may have to cope without experienced defender Juan Cala for the visit of La Liga champions Real Madrid on Wednesday evening.
The 31-year-old, who was recently cleared of wrongdoing after becoming embroiled in a racism scandal with Mouctar Diakhaby, missed out the weekend's goalless stalemate with Celta Vigo due to muscular discomfort and his involvement in this game is also uncertain.
There is a chance that Cala could push for a place, but Fali and Marcos Mauro formed an effective barrier in front of Jeremias Ledesma at the weekend and will hope to pair up in the heart of defence once more.
Midfielder Alex Fernandez has also missed the last three games due to a knee issue and may only be fit enough for a place on the bench here, meaning that Jose Mari and Jens Jonsson will continue to man the engine room.
However, one alteration in midfield could see Jairo Izquierdo earn a recall to the fold over Salvi Sanchez, but Alberto Perea remains out of contention with a muscular issue.
Anthony Lozano scored the game's only goal when Cadiz beat Real Madrid 1-0 earlier in the season, but he has since struggled to earn regular starts and is unlikely to displace Ruben Sobrino or Alvaro Negredo in the final third.
Cadiz possible starting lineup:
Ledesma; Carcelen, Mauro, Fali, Espino; Malbasic, Mari, Jonsson, Izquierdo; Negredo, Sobrino
