Real Madrid have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi during the January transfer window.
Since penning a season-long loan deal with Paris Saint-Germain, Icardi has contributed 14 goals and two assists from 17 appearances in all competitions.
That return and Icardi's regular game time at the Parc des Princes has increased the chances of a permanent transfer worth £55.4m being made official at the midway point of the campaign.
However, according to FCInterNews, Real are monitoring the situation, with enquiries said to have been made regarding their chances of completing their own deal for the Argentine.
While PSG sporting director Leonardo is reportedly willing to hand the 26-year-old a five-year contract as soon as possible, any interest from Los Blancos could delay the process.
