Gareth Bale admits Real Madrid struggles

Gareth Bale admits that he is not having a good season, despite scoring for the second weekend running in Real Madrid's 4-1 victory over Getafe.

Gareth Bale has admitted that he is not having a good season at Real Madrid, despite scoring in the club's 4-1 victory over Getafe in La Liga on Saturday.

Bale enjoyed a successful first season at the Bernabeu after moving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, scoring in the Champions League and Copa del Rey finals among his 22 goals in his debut campaign in Spain.

After a slightly less profitable season last time out, the Welshman has made just 11 appearances and scored only four times in the first four months of 2015-16, and he admitted that his niggling problems have prevented him finding form.

"I am not having a very good season," he is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo. "Injuries have prevented me from having the rhythm I need to be at my best.

"It is nice to score, but the important thing is putting in the work for the team. The job of scoring goals is for the striker."

"I feel really comfortable with these players. I get along well with Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Rafael] Benitez."

In total, Bale has scored 43 goals in 103 matches in all competitions for Real since joining from Spurs for a reported world-record fee of around £85m.
