Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale expects his side to soon find some momentum after ending their three-match winless run in La Liga with an emphatic 7-1 win over Deportivo.

Gareth Bale has insisted that both he and Real Madrid are slowly getting back to their best following a thumping 7-1 win against Deportivo La Coruna.

Los Blancos picked up a first La Liga victory in four attempts on Sunday afternoon, as they recovered from a goal down for their biggest top-flight win of a disappointing season.

Bale showed glimpses of his best form at the Bernabeu by netting either side of half time to turn the game on its head, and the Wales international hopes that his injury hell is now behind him ahead of a vital run of fixtures.

"Real Madrid have to rest up and take work as a team, taking it one step at a time," he told the assembled press after the match. "I think we'll get back to our best slowly but surely. We have to keep working hard in the upcoming games and keep on winning.

"We never give in, even if we know La Liga is now extremely difficult. When you're back playing alongside these teammates, that makes you very happy. I'm glad to be back with them and scoring goals.

"I feel good, I'm still not 100% but I'm getting back to my best one step at a time. I'm happy to be back playing again, to be at this level and improving all the time. There are still big games to come and of course I want to play in and win these kinds of games."

Bale has now scored eight goals in 12 appearances for Madrid in domestic and European competition during an injury-plagued campaign.
