Fresh from starring in Real Madrid's Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain, Karim Benzema is set to be back in La Liga action for Los Blancos against Mallorca on Monday night.

The France international has been in strong form at club level this season, finding the back of the net on 30 occasions in 33 appearances in all competitions, in addition to contributing 12 assists.

Benzema scored a brilliant hat-trick against PSG in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday to help send Carlo Ancelotti's side into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

In La Liga, Benzema has 20 goals and 10 assists in 24 outings, including goals in each of his last three league appearances against Alaves, Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad.

Benzema suffered a minor foot problem against PSG last time out but is expected to be cleared to face Mallorca in Spain's top flight on Monday evening.

Benzema has a strong record against Mallorca, facing the club on 10 occasions - all in La Liga - winning eight, drawing one and losing one of their previous contests, scoring five times and providing three assists.

The Frenchman's first-ever appearance against Mallorca came during the 2009-10 campaign, helping his side record a 2-0 victory at Bernabeu before coming on as a substitute in a 4-1 success in the return fixture towards the end of that particular season.

Benzema's first goal against the Pirates came at Bernabeu during the 2010-11 campaign, with his strike proving enough for Los Blancos to secure all three points in a 1-0 victory.

The experienced forward then provided an assist in a 2-1 victory at Mallorca during the 2011-12 campaign before finding the back of the net in a 4-1 victory at Bernabeu on the final weekend of the season.

Benzema also netted in a 5-2 home success for Real Madrid in March 2013, but he did not register against Mallorca during the 2019-20 La Liga campaign and was actually on the end of a 1-0 loss to the Palma-based club early in the season.

Arguably, the striker's finest-ever display against Los Bermellones came in the reverse match earlier this season, scoring twice and providing two assists in a 6-1 victory.

Benzema has been part of some impressive victories over Mallorca - 4-1, 5-2 and 6-1 - but he has actually never scored in an away league contest with last season's second-place finishers in the Segunda Division, which he will be keen to rectify on Monday night.
