Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has praised his team for their 2-0 win over Roma in Wednesday's last-16 first leg in the Champions League.
Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese Rodriguez secured a first-leg advantage for Los Blancos, who will welcome the Italian side for the return next month.
Zidane also paid tribute to goalscorers Ronaldo and Jese, who both struck in the second 45 minutes.
"We're happy with the game and the result. We knew it was going to be a tough game but we fought to the end and were able to get a good result. In the first half they pressured us and that's normal in a difficult Champions League tie," Zidane told UEFA.com.
"Cristiano [Ronaldo] was great but then again so was everyone. Even those who did not play were important for team morale. I'm happy with Jese's goal, because it helped the side and he deserved it for his efforts."
Real Madrid are seeking their 11th European Cup this season.
