Adrian Lopez: 'It was difficult to take'

Atletico Madrid forward Adrian Lopez reveals his disappointment following Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Atletico Madrid forward Adrian Lopez has revealed his disappointment following Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

Diego Simeone's side were less than two minutes away from winning the European Cup following a first-half header from Diego Godin.

However, Sergio Ramos levelled for Madrid in second-half stoppage time, before goals from Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo secured the crown for Los Blancos.

"We were champions in the 93rd minute. It's unbelievable. We felt ashamed that the game escaped us, but Gabi called us all together in the locker room and told us to be proud of ourselves," Inside Spanish Football quotes the attacker as saying.

"I think for 90 minutes we had a great game and it's a shame, because we couldn't we couldn't hold out just a little longer, with that goal."

Adrian came on in the 10th minute of the final after Diego Costa limped off the field.
