An impressive defensive performance from Norwich City means that the first half at Madejski Stadium ends goalless.

Despite a bright start, Reading have been unable to break the deadlock against Norwich City in the first half at the Madejski Stadium.

The hosts started brightly and John Ruddy was tested in the Norwich goal early on, keeping out Garath McLeary's 25-yard strike.

Wes Hoolahan looked Norwich's main threat in attack and he created an opening for Bradley Johnson on the edge of the box but the midfielder fired his shot over the crossbar.

Kaspars Gorkss scored in Reading's draw with Queens Park Rangers last weekend and the defender should have made it two in two weeks but his header flew over the crossbar from a set piece situation.

Reading had an even better chance to take the lead heading into the break when Jason Roberts dispossessed Sebastian Bassong, but the striker's delivery was deflected inches wide of Ruddy's post.
