Southampton are reportedly hopeful of signing Rangers midfielder Steven Davis.
The 27-year-old Northern Ireland international, who is one of the Glasgow giants' most valuable assets, has made over 200 appearances during four and a half years at Ibrox.
Saints boss Nigel Adkins is looking capitalise on Rangers' financial insecurity by snapping up Davis for a cut-price transfer fee of £2m, according to The Sun.
The newspaper also claims that Davis could become the highest earner at St Mary's.
Davies cost Rangers £3m when he joined from Aston Villa in 2008.
