Charles Green urges supporters to back him

Rangers chief executive Charles Green urges supporters to back his consortium after a protest outside Ibrox last night.

Rangers chief executive Charles Green has urged supporters to back his consortium after protests took place outside Ibrox on Wednesday night.

A crowd of around 1,500, led by former defender Jon Brown, staged a protest against the new regime outside Ibrox.

"It's not right that a proportion of Rangers fans continue to attack my consortium and try to undermine our rescue plans," Green told BBC Scotland.

"It's not right that every two weeks a Mel Gibson appears, delivers a Braveheart statement, then doesn't deliver anything."

Green is facing the prospect of seeing newco Rangers in the Scottish Football League, with his application for entry to the Scottish Premier League seemingly impossible.
