Jermaine Jenas wants to earn new deal with Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Jermaine Jenas says that he wants to prove his worth to secure a new contract with the club.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Jermaine Jenas has said that he would like to sign a fresh deal at Loftus Road.

The 30-year-old, who scored in the club's 2-1 win over Derby County last weekend, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the starting XI this season.

Jenas, whose current deal runs out at the end of the campaign, has stated that he wants to prove his worth to manager Harry Redknapp.

"I've had to wait patiently and I've been very frustrated at not playing," Jenas told Get West London.

"We have a big squad and there are players to come back. As long as I am part of the team that wins the league, that's all I'm bothered about. There's a few of us here that have only got months left on our deals, so we're going to keep pushing to get this club where it needs to be and earn the right to get a new contract.

"A lot of us in this team have played Premier League football and we feel it's where we belong. But you have to earn it and we intend on doing it."

Jenas has made 14 appearances for QPR this season.
