Robert Green: 'We are disappointed and frustrated'

Robert Green says that Queens Park Rangers "gave away two poor goals" in their 2-1 loss to Burnley and cannot understand why they are so poor away from home.

Robert Green has said that Queens Park Rangers failed to "get the basics right" after they slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Burnley this afternoon.

After Scott Arfield's opener at Turf Moor, the Hoops equalised through Charlie Austin in the 33rd minute.

However, they were behind again less than five minutes later as Danny Ings fired Burnley in front, and the Clarets were rarely threatened in the second half as they held on to secure all three points.

"It's a feeling of disappointment and frustration," QPR goalkeeper Green told BBC Sport after the final whistle. "It's a big game for us and them, but not enough of the team have put in a good performance. We gave away two poor goals and it's cost us.

"Nothing needed to be said in the dressing room. We have come to a tough place. It was a day for getting the basics right and we didn't do that.

"We've really not helped ourselves. We had to score three to win on the back of the goals we conceded."

The loss means that QPR have lost all 10 of their away games in the league this season and Green has said that he cannot understand the reason for their poor form on the road.

"The away record is not something you can put your finger on," he added. "We don't go into the games any different. We've conceded poor goals away from home continually. Today was no exception."

The result saw Burnley leapfrog QPR, with Harry Redknapp's side dropping into the relegation zone in the process.
