QPR boss Mark Hughes admits that he's "extremely disappointed" following his side's 3-2 defeat to Reading in the Capital One Cup.

Mark Hughes has admitted that he is "extremely disappointed" with his side's Capital One Cup exit at the hands of Reading.

Despite leading twice at Loftus Road, the R's eventually went down 3-2 thanks to Pavel Pogrebnyak's late winner.

"Overall, though, we are extremely disappointed because this is a tournament we wanted to progress in," Hughes told the club's official website.

"We got ourselves into two winning positions and I expected us to take the game away from Reading but we were unable to do that."

QPR continue their Premier League campaign on Monday when they entertain West Ham United.
