Former Cardiff City and Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Gabor Gyepes opts to join Portsmouth on a short-term basis.

Portsmouth have signed Hungarian centre-back Gabor Gyepes on a one-month contract.

The move for the 31-year-old Hungarian, who was a free agent, is subject to international clearance.

"He's played for a few clubs in England before so knows what to expect and we're pleased to be able to add him to our squad," Pompey manager Michael Appleton told the club's official website.

"We have got a couple of young centre-backs in Kevin Long and Josh Thompson, so Gabor adds a bit of experience in that area."

Gyepes's former clubs include Cardiff City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He will wear the number 16 shirt at Fratton Park.
