Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback has returned to the club on a season-long loan deal.
Colback spent the second half of the last campaign at the City Ground, with one goal being scored in 16 appearances in the Championship.
Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has previously suggested that Colback was on his way back to the East Midlands, but it was believed that the Magpies were looking to sell the 28-year-old.
However, Forest have announced that they have only secured a reunion with Colback on a temporary basis, with the option of a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Forest have now made 10 first-team signings this summer as head coach Aitor Karanka looks to put together a squad capable of challenging for the Championship title.
