Tim Flowers has claimed that it would be the wrong decision for Karl Darlow to pursue a move away from Nottingham Forest in the near future.
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have both been linked with the 23-year-old in recent months, but Forest's goalkeeping coach believes that it is crucial for Darlow to be playing regular football at his age.
"I think this is the perfect club for Karl right now," Flowers told the club's official website. "It's a big club with an expectant crowd and wonderful facilities.
"Depending on how the jersey pans out in pre-season, he's got a chance to play first-team football. You see a lot of lads his age who move clubs and don't play – absolute waste of time.
"This is the right place at the right time for him. He's got things to improve on and learn, but he's only 23 so has plenty of years ahead of him."
Forest manager Stuart Pearce insisted earlier this week that he would not be put under pressure to sell any key players.
