Dougie Freedman has revealed that he has shaken hands with owner Fawaz Al Hasawi on a new deal to continue as manager.
The 40-year-old agreed a short-term contract when he replaced Stuart Pearce in February, but there was early confusion over the length of the deal.
Now, Freedman, whose Forest side sit ninth in the Championship, has revealed that he is expecting to pen fresh terms sooner rather than later.
"There's no problem from my end at all, it's just getting something in black and white," Freedman told BBC Radio Nottingham. "But there has been a handshake so I don't see anything that will stop us going forward."
Forest will take on Huddersfield Town at the City Ground on Saturday.
