Norwich City defender Martin Olsson will undergo surgery to correct a shoulder problem during the summer.
The complaint has forced the full-back to pull out of the Sweden squad that will face Turkey this week, but the Canaries are hopeful that he will be able to complete the season before going under the knife.
"He will undergo surgery later. He has a problem which became worse yesterday. Norwich want him to remain with the club to get treatment and have as much chance as possible to be able to complete the season," Sweden coach Erik Hamren told reporters.
The 25-year-old has made 33 appearances for club and country this season.
